TGuatemala Horseback Riding

Short Tours description

Half day Horseback riding on Lake Atitlan: This is not a tour, it is an adventure packed journey that will bring you up close and personal with the incredible beauty and biodiversity of Lake Atitlan landscape and culture.

 

Horseback and hiking in the Sierra de los Cuchumatanes

Day 0. Arrival to the Unicornio Azul, dinner and night.

Day 1. Horse back riding for a first approach to the unusual nature of the plateau, before taking way in 4x4 towards the highest part of the Cuchumatanes. We will finish the ascent walking in a protected area and with spectacular views, beforearriving to the camp for a deserved rest around the fire.

Day 2. After the spectacular dawn on the volcanos range and the plateaux “down”, we will continue walking through this landscape outside the time. Soon, the car will take to us by roads  very few used, with vertiginous views to the precipices. The region becomes coffee grower and the vegetation more tropical. The camp will be in hot lands on a beach of the Rio Azul.

Day 3. Visit by foot of hidden cave paintings in the “dry thorny forest” characteristic of the region before continuing the trip towards the Hoyo Cimarrón: a mystery of the nature consisting of a cylindrical hole of 170 ms approximately of diameter and similar depth. The night will find us near the cheminea in the comfortable and cosy facilities of a farm with a magical view on the lake of Yolnajab.

Day 4. Last walk in the farm that keeps several archaeological ruins, before returning to Huehuetenango where you will be able to spend the night or to take its correspondence for other destinations.

Estimating Tailor-made Trip Costs

Tour costs will vary depending upon the type of transportation used, extra services and inclusions, meals, length of program, etc. As a general rule, in Lake Atitlan tour prices will vary between $100 to $150 per couples per Tour (including private land transfers, private guiding and tours).

These cost estimates are based on private services for 2 people. If the group size is larger, fixed costs such as transportation and guides will be shared between more people and the price would tend to be lower. These estimates are only general guidelines; please ask for an actual quotation before assuming any costs for your trip.
